This is a series of photos I made in 2022. My initial idea was to make small scenes in nature, as if a tribe of leprechauns had left some kind of untranslatable totems. I started to see that it wasn’t the imagined backstory that kept me working on this project, it was the feeling of looking at the unexplainable. There’s that moment before your higher brain can process the facts and square them with reality. I like that feeling, right on the edge of “I know what that is” and “that can’t be true”.
